Curriculum
A CURRICULUM THAT DEVELOPS INDEPENDENCE AND INSIGHT
Sixth grade is a turning point. Children begin to think more critically, ask deeper questions, and form their own views. Our curriculum meets them at this stage with rich, challenging material that nurtures both intellect and imagination.
Language Arts
Through creative writing, literature, and structured grammar, students develop their voice as writers. A fantasy world-building block invites imagination and structure to work together, while writing projects build confidence and communication skills.
Math
Sixth graders explore geometry through compass-and-straightedge constructions, then shift into practical business math. Lessons in budgeting, percentages, and real-world problem solving give numbers real meaning.
Nature & Science
Students explore astronomy, geology, and physics—studying everything from constellations and space exploration to light, sound, and magnetism. These topics foster curiosity and a deeper appreciation for the natural world.
Social Studies
From ancient Rome to feudal Japan, your child will explore the cultures, beliefs, and technologies that shaped human history. Global geography and trade routes bring historical understanding into a modern context.
Social & Emotional Growth
With thoughtful discussions, collaborative work, and creative exploration, students build independence, confidence, and an understanding of their role in a larger world.

We had such an incredible experience for our daughter in this class. She has been taking Waldorful Days classes since she was 4 years old but this is the first full year she has been in a class. It's very evident that there is so much intention put into the planning of each block and lesson, and the gentleness and responsiveness of Ms. Tarren has made this a truly magical experience for our 7 year old.

Such a wonderful class! My boys enjoy learning about different animals. They also love drawing and watching how the teacher draws. They always comment to me, “Mom, wow! Look the teacher is such a professional artist” Each class they love seeing how her drawing evolves. We look forward to many more classes!

My daughter (and I) were so pleased with Ms. Rebecca’s offerings each morning that we were quick to enroll in her additional Outschool/Waldorful Days classes! Highly recommended for anyone familiar with Waldorf Philosophy or who is simply looking for a sweet, wholesome, age-appropriate and non-media saturated circle time for their young child.
